Meet the Artist
I am an emerging artist from Cumbria, but a long time resident of Scotland. After years of wishing I had gone to art school, in my late thirties I decided to finally go back to University to study Fine Art. My work considers themes of oppression, power, sexuality, and stereotypes. With a life long love of mythology and its strong imagery the Ancient Myths often inspire my work. As I love most forms of creativity I have multi-disciplinary approach which thus far spans painting, textiles, pottery, sculpture, photography and digital media.
I’ve found that my fascination with mythology serves as a rich tapestry from which I can draw inspiration, exploring how age old narratives can reflect and challenge societal norms. By revisiting these ancient tales, I hope to critique the persistent stereotypes and stigmas that continue to shape contemporary identities.
I look forward to exploring my ideas further and working with the community in a creative capacity. Feel free to get in touch if you would like to work with me or if you have any questions.
